Project Outline

Constructed for the 150th anniversary of Keio University, the Collaboration Complex (Kyosei-Kan) at Hiyoshi Campus is an open learning facility for students, instructors and local communities designed to encourage cooperation and collaboration in line with the design concept of "providing a global center of learning." The glorious open space consisting of the Hiyoshi Forest and sports ground on the east side is ideal for the pursuit of physical activities of all kinds and serves as a springboard for global pursuits.
The Collaboration Complex is a new venue for sporting, cultural, health and business promotion and practical activities that complements and augments the programs offered at the three graduate schools. It provides a central focus for students and people of all ages to meet, mix and engage with one another.
The building itself features user-friendly and environmentally-friendly design along with a range of initiatives to reduce energy consumption and minimize ongoing running costs. In this way, it is the perfect embodiment of the Keio University ideal of an "Environment, Safety and Health campus."
