Project Outline

The Panasonic Electric Works Tokyo Headquarters building was constructed with the aim of integrating the company's sales and operation functions, including showrooms and offices scattered over the Tokyo metropolitan area, dispatching and collecting information as a strategic business base in the metropolitan area, and creating a new corporate image in the 21st century. "The entire building is an energy-saving system," "the entire building is a showroom," and "the entire building is lighting equipment" were the key concepts from the beginning of design. In the points of view of electric, air conditioning, and sanitation systems, "energy saving control based on an equipment integration basic network", "equipment control with the aid of human sensors", and "anti-crime equipment" were introduced. The standard floor provided with a two-layered open ceiling space has a characteristic appearance on the west side. The lighting plan for this area combining ceiling upper lights and mullion lighting enables the entire building to serve as a lighting system that can change its expressions.
