Project Outline

This building is designed to provide the high-quality working environments and services required of an office building with Head Office functions. At the same time, however, it adopts ideas designed to increase the environmental efficiency of an office building in various respects, with the aim of promoting consideration for the environment and energy conservation.
In this building, we have attempted to improve amenities by establishing spaces for relaxation, such as refresher spaces and open decks at various points. The working space, a "three-dimensional One-Office", is a large space with a high ceiling. While it retains an open-plan interior, it uses floor blower air-conditioning, task air-conditioning, ambient lighting and others, achieving a high-quality indoor environment.
The building is also designed with a seismic-isolation and vibration-control structure, its exterior consisting of a double skin of titanium oxide coating and maintenance-free brick. The arrangement of the building takes account of thermal load, and the building is planned with an east-west axis and north-south openings.
Various equipment systems have been deployed with a view to making the building universal (double skin, substructure heat storage, indirect lighting, partitioned task air-conditioning). Steps have been taken to make effective use of materials and spaces, while a wide range of options is available in deploying the building as an environmentally accountable system. As such, various needs can be met.

These cases are described based on assessment results obtained using CASBEE.
CASBEE is a method for rating the environmental performance of buildings using Building Environmental Efficiency (BEE) as an indicator, which is based on the results of separate scores obtained for Q-1~Q-3 (Quality) and LR-1~LR-3 (Load Reduction).
